I received an urgent 911 a couple hours ago to pick up Orphan babies. It looks like we will be doing that again this year. However, these are young and I need to leave today.
Fuel can be expected to be around $900, as I have to take the baby trailer and it is a beast. (She is actually 4 feet shorter than that one.) However, she causes the truck to eat fuel, but I need it when we are getting orphans.
We need funds for fuel, ($900+/-) Foal Milk Replacer, (Not multi-species), emergency vetting, feed, medical supplies etc. I was not prepared as we did not expect to get these foals again this year. A bucket of Mare’s Match Powder is $107.99 at Walmart. One baby usually uses one of those +/- a week. We need baby wipes, gloves, baby thermometers and all the normal foal stuff.
Please help as I am heading that way now. Once again I am running on Faith. My heart is shattered as Lavender had a miscarriage the night before last and we had to end her suffering yesterday as well.
Lavender has been struggling for a long time. We only had her 48 hours, but she had a huge mass behind her liver that was rotten and just shredded apart when Doc did her necropsy. Her stomach was huge and looked like a basketball and her liver was super enlarged. Doc said he had never ever seen anything like it, and he has been doing this 50 + years??
So yesterday was a double heartbreak, and as usual there is no time to grieve. I am just about to jump in the truck and head out.
I have a donor who will do matching funds for any donations made from here on forward until it reaches $2500. We now have another big vet bill, even after our Angels paid off the one 2 days ago. It never stops. Let’s get these babies safe and start healing their broken little hearts.
