The Mama Donkeys are here, and they are sad and they are punky and rough.
Guess what? The rescue needs more help. It’s true, and it always will be as long as we keep doing this work. Mr. Honeybandit decided to hurt himself and we had to take him to see Doc. Another unexpected expense.
Critters always want to eat, even if they are stuck somewhere waiting for their transport. More unexpected needs.
URGENT NEED is to pay off Doc the $1500 we owe left from the last few appointments, ie 6 gelded colts and Mr. Honeybandit’s appointment. Thankfully Honeybandit appears to be feeling a bit better. Yayyyyyyy
URGENT NEED to pay off today’s truck repair bill of $1900. Stock trailer towed to the shop this morning, and I have no idea what it will cost to fix it. Seems like every time you have a budget there are always unexpected emergencies.
URGENT NEEDS ARE:
I need to pay Doc $1500 plus today?????? He is still willing to come out tomorrow as Sweetie needs him to check her asap, and we need to get them vetted.
Need to pick up the truck today from the 1st repair, and it is $1900
Y’all have been amazing, and your donations paid for the hay in full, to repair 2 of the smaller hay barns damaged in the storm, get the front tires for the tractor, fix the spare trailer tire and about $600 at the feed store, and paid the bail and transport for the donkeys, and the prior vet bill was also paid in full.
I am extremely worried about Sweetie. She is feeling punky and walking stiffly on her back end. I am praying she is ok, and that Doc can tell me for certain tomorrow if she gave birth and is ok.

Y’all are awesome, and just an FYI, I was contacted yesterday and asked if we could help save some wild kids in the next few weeks. Youngsters, 4 – 6 months old? Do not know the details, only that fuel for transport will be a nightmare and so will all the other expenses. For now I am just concentrating on these poor lil donks and our ongoing vet bill and vehicle expenses.
