Chilly Pepper – Decision Time, Can Chilly Pepper stay open?

The following is from Chilly Pepper - Miracle Mustang: Tough Update: Hi all, This is an extremely difficult update to write. With the current economy, and the lack of funding, I am looking seriously at whether or not Chilly Pepper will be able to continue doing what we do. I see so many rescues shutting down and I am actually having to think that might be a possibility? We raised roughly $515 during this last fundraiser for the much needed hay and vet bill. I need $2200 just for the vet bill and a big load of hay runs anywhere from $3400 to $4500 normally. That load lasts months, but I need to buy another load asap. The babies are loving their milk and munchies but those are also costly. I need to buy more grain for them today. We have horses who have started their gentling/training process so they can be adopted, but we also have quite a few permanent residents. Alot of them are older, but my 30 year olds look like they are in their early 20's. Before I started this, I personally owned 2 properties outright, this one and my place in CA. I had a corvette, a custom Harley, a jet boat, a custom truck and I had a nice little baking business where I actually received a paycheck. I simply have nothing left to put into this. The toys are gone, and I am living in a single wide trailer that doesn't even have more than subfloors. I am NOT complaining, I made these choices, and TOGETHER we have saved so many lives and ended so much suffering. I am just, as always, trying to share the brutal truth, and the fact is I need more help if we are going to keep doing this. I ...

Chilly Pepper – It’s HAY time, and we are almost out! Please help!

The following is from Chilly Pepper - Miracle Mustang: Quick Update: We don't often have a Hay Emergency, but I am kind of having one now. I had a family emergency and came home to see I only have 4 big bales and a few small ones. We have 24 kids plus the 3 babies, and I need to order hay asap. Doc in WA really needs to be paid, (hopefully by the end of the month), and I still owe $2200 as the recent donations have been going to milk powder, pellets, grain, trailer repair etc. I really need help to get the hay ordered asap and get Doc paid off. It is crucial to be able to get the urgent/emergency care we need and be trusted to pay off the bill. I really do not want to lose that ability and trust. Please help if you can. All the kids are doing wonderfully and we just need to get some hay right away. Thank you for All the love and support. Thank you for the milk donations, the soap and baby wipes. I used all of them for the babies. You are all so appreciated. Meet The Support Behind Second Chances

The following is from All About Equine Animal Rescue: Every second chance story at AAE is made possible by people who choose to stand behind it. This month, we’re excited to spotlight not only one of our incredible Boots and Bling sponsors, but also a monthly horse sponsor whose ongoing support helps provide consistent care, comfort, and stability for a horse in need. Their generosity is a reminder that even small acts of support, given faithfully over time, can make a life-changing difference. SPONSOR Can you tell us a little about yourself, your family, business, or organization? I am an avid explorer and photographer. I enjoy sharing memory-filled outings in the outdoors via social media, fine art prints and workshops. I specialize in outdoor and equine photography and video, and I am an Exclusive Contributor to Getty Images for stock photos. My images of nature have appeared in the LA Times, Sacramento Bee, San Francisco Chronicle, Travel, Alaska and Trail Rider Magazine (cover) to name a few. In addition to making many horse-loving clients happy, my equine photos have appeared on book and album covers, and they have been used for a myriad of advertising. I also enjoy bringing other photogs on workshops in the West, Canada, Iceland and Alaska. Workshops are organized through Meetup.com. If you have special requests for a shoot, prints or private workshop, please reach out via the contact link. What inspired you to become a Boots and Bling sponsor? My wife has been a longtime volunteer for AAE, and we have adopted a few horses over the years. She has also trained several for adoption, and we know what it takes to care for the horses and to give them a good life. My role as a board member has also offered additional insights into ...

Your generosity, enthusiasm, and support helped make Boots and Bling not only possible, but truly wonderful. Because of you, Boots and Bling was more than just a fun evening; it was a night that will help carry rescue forward for horses who need us most. Tonight, We’re All Coming Together for the Horses

The following is from All About Equine Animal Rescue: Dear Friends, Right now, our community is gathered together for Boots and Bling, an evening celebrating the horses we all love and the mission we share. While many supporters are with us in person tonight, this event was never meant to be only about a dinner, an auction, or a celebration in one room. The true purpose of tonight is bringing our entire community together to help the horses. At this very moment, our guests are watching our Fund-A-Need video, and we want you to be part of this experience too. Caring for 50–60 horses at any given time comes with significant responsibility, and significant cost. Feed, veterinary care, vaccinations, farrier care, and dental work are all part of the daily commitment we make to every horse in our care. Add to that the horses who require specialized treatments, diagnostics, medications, rehabilitation, and specialized feed, and the need becomes even greater. That’s why tonight matters. Whether you are sitting in the Folsom Community Center or supporting from home, every single donation makes a difference. Every gift helps ensure these horses receive the care, safety, healing, and love they deserve. Here are just a few examples of what your support can provide: ·     $5,000 helps cover most of a hay load that feeds 50–60 horses for 4–6 weeks ·     $2,500 helps cover a portion of monthly veterinary care ·     $1,000 helps pay for a load of senior pellets ·     $500 helps cover the typical intake costs for one horse, including transport, dental care, vaccines, microchipping, deworming, farrier care, and feed ·     $250 helps support the cost of castration ·     $100 helps cover one month of care for a horse After watching the video, we invite you to stand alongside everyone gathered ...

Chilly Pepper – ANOTHER CALL, BABY 911

The following is from Chilly Pepper - Miracle Mustang: Hi, I received an urgent 911 a couple hours ago to pick up Orphan babies. It looks like we will be doing that again this year. However, these are young and I need to leave today. Fuel can be expected to be around $900, as I have to take the baby trailer and it is a beast. (She is actually 4 feet shorter than that one.) However, she causes the truck to eat fuel, but I need it when we are getting orphans. We need funds for fuel, ($900+/-) Foal Milk Replacer, (Not multi-species), emergency vetting, feed, medical supplies etc. I was not prepared as we did not expect to get these foals again this year. A bucket of Mare's Match Powder is $107.99 at Walmart. One baby usually uses one of those +/- a week. We need baby wipes, gloves, baby thermometers and all the normal foal stuff. Please help as I am heading that way now. Once again I am running on Faith. My heart is shattered as Lavender had a miscarriage the night before last and we had to end her suffering yesterday as well. Lavender has been struggling for a long time. We only had her 48 hours, but she had a huge mass behind her liver that was rotten and just shredded apart when Doc did her necropsy. Her stomach was huge and looked like a basketball and her liver was super enlarged. Doc said he had never ever seen anything like it, and he has been doing this 50 + years?? So yesterday was a double heartbreak, and as usual there is no time to grieve. I am just about to jump in the truck and head out. I have a donor who will do matching ...
