Tonight, We’re All Coming Together for the Horses

The following is from All About Equine Animal Rescue: Dear Friends, Right now, our community is gathered together for Boots and Bling, an evening celebrating the horses we all love and the mission we share. While many supporters are with us in person tonight, this event was never meant to be only about a dinner, an auction, or a celebration in one room. The true purpose of tonight is bringing our entire community together to help the horses. At this very moment, our guests are watching our Fund-A-Need video, and we want you to be part of this experience too. Caring for 50–60 horses at any given time comes with significant responsibility, and significant cost. Feed, veterinary care, vaccinations, farrier care, and dental work are all part of the daily commitment we make to every horse in our care. Add to that the horses who require specialized treatments, diagnostics, medications, rehabilitation, and specialized feed, and the need becomes even greater. That’s why tonight matters. Whether you are sitting in the Folsom Community Center or supporting from home, every single donation makes a difference. Every gift helps ensure these horses receive the care, safety, healing, and love they deserve. Here are just a few examples of what your support can provide: ·     $5,000 helps cover most of a hay load that feeds 50–60 horses for 4–6 weeks ·     $2,500 helps cover a portion of monthly veterinary care ·     $1,000 helps pay for a load of senior pellets ·     $500 helps cover the typical intake costs for one horse, including transport, dental care, vaccines, microchipping, deworming, farrier care, and feed ·     $250 helps support the cost of castration ·     $100 helps cover one month of care for a horse After watching the video, we invite you to stand alongside everyone gathered ...

Chilly Pepper – ANOTHER CALL, BABY 911

The following is from Chilly Pepper - Miracle Mustang: Hi, I received an urgent 911 a couple hours ago to pick up Orphan babies. It looks like we will be doing that again this year. However, these are young and I need to leave today. Fuel can be expected to be around $900, as I have to take the baby trailer and it is a beast. (She is actually 4 feet shorter than that one.) However, she causes the truck to eat fuel, but I need it when we are getting orphans. We need funds for fuel, ($900+/-) Foal Milk Replacer, (Not multi-species), emergency vetting, feed, medical supplies etc. I was not prepared as we did not expect to get these foals again this year. A bucket of Mare's Match Powder is $107.99 at Walmart. One baby usually uses one of those +/- a week. We need baby wipes, gloves, baby thermometers and all the normal foal stuff. Please help as I am heading that way now. Once again I am running on Faith. My heart is shattered as Lavender had a miscarriage the night before last and we had to end her suffering yesterday as well. Lavender has been struggling for a long time. We only had her 48 hours, but she had a huge mass behind her liver that was rotten and just shredded apart when Doc did her necropsy. Her stomach was huge and looked like a basketball and her liver was super enlarged. Doc said he had never ever seen anything like it, and he has been doing this 50 + years?? So yesterday was a double heartbreak, and as usual there is no time to grieve. I am just about to jump in the truck and head out. I have a donor who will do matching ...

Waiting Patiently: Rimes’ Search for a Forever Home

The following is from All About Equine Animal Rescue: Each of our adoptable horses has a story, and every so often, the right person comes along who connects with that story in a meaningful way. Through these spotlights, we hope to introduce our horses to the people who may be the perfect match for them, or to someone who knows exactly where they belong. This month, we’re featuring Rimes, a quiet and resilient mare searching for her forever home. RIMES Rimes arrived at AAE with Trinity in March 2024 following seizure by law enforcement in a cruelty case. She was frightened, thin, and in pain. She had significant swelling over her right rear pastern and severely overgrown hooves that likely added to her discomfort. After receiving pain medication and an initial trim for relief, she slowly began to settle in. Radiographs revealed heartbreaking injuries: two older, unhealed fractures in her pastern bone. One fracture appeared close to fusing, but the other showed complete separation of a piece of bone. Despite the severity of her injuries, Rimes remained remarkably gentle and sweet. With stall rest, careful management, daily medication/supplements, and lots of patient handling, Rimes improved. Then came the news we had hoped for: updated radiographs four months later showed her fractures had healed! Today, Rimes has blossomed into a sweet little mare who genuinely enjoys kind attention and care. While her past injury means she is best suited as a non-riding companion horse, she has so much to offer someone willing to build a relationship based on patience and trust. Chilly Pepper -Donkeys are here and in Rough Shape. Need Doc!!

The following is from Chilly Pepper - Miracle Mustang: The Mama Donkeys are here, and they are sad and they are punky and rough. Guess what? The rescue needs more help. It's true, and it always will be as long as we keep doing this work. Mr. Honeybandit decided to hurt himself and we had to take him to see Doc. Another unexpected expense. Critters always want to eat, even if they are stuck somewhere waiting for their transport. More unexpected needs. URGENT NEED is to pay off Doc the $1500 we owe left from the last few appointments, ie 6 gelded colts and Mr. Honeybandit's appointment. Thankfully Honeybandit appears to be feeling a bit better. Yayyyyyyy URGENT NEED to pay off today's truck repair bill of $1900. Stock trailer towed to the shop this morning, and I have no idea what it will cost to fix it. Seems like every time you have a budget there are always unexpected emergencies. URGENT NEEDS ARE: I need to pay Doc $1500 plus today?????? He is still willing to come out tomorrow as Sweetie needs him to check her asap, and we need to get them vetted. Need to pick up the truck today from the 1st repair, and it is $1900 Y'all have been amazing, and your donations paid for the hay in full, to repair 2 of the smaller hay barns damaged in the storm, get the front tires for the tractor, fix the spare trailer tire and about $600 at the feed store, and paid the bail and transport for the donkeys, and the prior vet bill was also paid in full. I am extremely worried about Sweetie. She is feeling punky and walking stiffly on her back end. I am praying she is ok, and that Doc can tell ...
