Karli is an estimated four-year old Arabian filly who came to AAE after a law enforcement seizure involving 24 horses in an abandonment/neglect case. Law enforcement learned of the situation in Fall 2023 and began feeding the herd after the horses were abandoned on a remote high desert property. The horses were starving, emaciated, and in the end, three lost their lives. Winter conditions were harsh, and after feeding the horses for several months law enforcement ultimately seized the herd in February 2024. By March 2024 when we met them, many of the horses were still underweight, coats were heavily matted, and they were long overdue for basic care. AAE stepped in to help, ultimately taking 15 of the horses, including pregnant mares, foals, young fillies, and a brand new colt born after seizure. |

Fortunately, Karli was in relatively good physical condition. She arrived very timid, unsure, and very reactive to the least little movement or anything new, especially when first introduced to a halter. With time to learn and build her confidence, she’s blossomed into a wonderful youngster. She’s responsive, curious, and a trainer’s favorite for her willingness to try when handled at her pace. Karli is progressing well with hoof care and groundwork. She enjoys turnout with a herd, and she often greets you at the gate. She’s been introduced to a saddle, pad and surcingle, though she still needs time to build more confidence. |

Karli is looking for a calm, patient, and experienced person who wants to take the journey with her slow and steady as she continues to learn and grow, both physically and mentally. Her body needs some time to mature, so please don’t be in a hurry to rush into the saddle. Karli is a very sweet kiddo, and she really needs someone who will truly appreciate the beautiful little gem that she is.
Karli is up to date on dental and hoof care, vaccines, and deworming, and she is microchipped.
