Meredith maintains a working ranch on 127 acres at the base of the Rocky Mountain foothills. Featuring a stately residence and lovely grounds, Lucky Three Ranch is also home to Meredith’s 19 mules, 2 donkeys and 8 horses.

Star Struck

No doubt about it, Lucky Three Ranch is a longears haven. Meredith bred all of the mules on the property, and among them are several celebrities, including:

• Lucky Three Sundowner—Sundowner won two World Championships at Third Level Dressage and a Reining World Championship

• Lucky Three Mae Bea C.T.—Mae Bea finished in second and then in first place at the Abbe Ranch Horse Trials, in Larkspur, Colo. In 2006 she was inducted into the Bishop Mule Days Hall of Fame.

• Lucky Three Ciji—Ciji was named International Side Saddle Organization Champion; National and International Reserve Champion Mule; and World Champion Side Saddle Mule at Bishop Mule Days.

• And of course Little Jack Horner—Father to most of the brood, this champion jack still holds the record as the only formal jumping donkey with a jump of four feet, at Bishop Mule Days in 1991.

Lasting Impressions

Lucky Three Ranch also boasts a one-of-a-kind collection of longears-inspired art. Life-size and half-life-size sculptures by renowned Western artists Robin Laws, Cammie Lundeen and Dawn Weimer and famed Tennessee Mule Artist Bonnie Shields are displayed around the ranch.

Recently, Meredith commissioned life-size statues of her own champion mule, Lucky Three Sundowner, sculpted by Robin Laws and Fort Collins artist John Taylor, and her prized donkey Little Jack Horner by Bonnie Shields.

Meredith has also asked Robin and John to sculpt a bronze representation of Mae Bea C.T. pulling Meredith in a Meadowbrook cart—life size!

In addition to these amazing, museum-worthy sculptures, Meredith also displays an extensive collection of illustrations, paintings and photos of her favorite animals—all part of her guided tour.
